BE PART OF THE SOLUTION
1. Draft
Each Open Letter has a specific topic describing a current problem in government. It will include some background information and offer specific solutions. During this period, participants can suggest solutions by writing them into the draft letter.
2. Sign
After a designated period of time, each Open Letter will enter a signing phase where American citizens can add their virtual signature to the letter, thereby agreeing to its content and message.
3. Send
The Open Letter will be time stamped and sent, along with a tally of the virtual signing endorsements, to designated elected officials.
4. Track
Progress in Politics then will track and post any responses from the recipients, as well as actions taken by them to implement solutions.
Political leaders trumpet hot-button issues with fervor while in office but somehow become less ideological when a better job comes up. When the $1.6 million job of running a notorious pork barrel trade association came up in late 2012, dozens of members of Congress from both parties reportedly expressed interest in applying for it.
