Americans have a voice—no matter our differences of race, color, creed, gender, religion or the size of our bank accounts. In all of our wonderful diversity, it is our right to be heard. This site is dedicated to real-world solutions, not rhetoric. Progress in Politics offers a unique way for American solutionists to be heard above broken American government and corrupt American politics.

This site is not a complaint forum—Progress in Politics provides a pathway to pragmatic solutions and courteous debate. The voting process occurs through a simple "yes" or virtual signing mechanism on the completed Open Letter, after which it will be sent to designated officials. Americans can contribute edits to draft solutions, entirely new solutions on current Open Letters, or suggest a new topic addressing a broken area in politics or government with your own initial draft solution.

ALL elected officials' responses ARE published—an important obligation of being an elected official is the duty to listen to constituents. Acting on our input is how we hold them accountable. This is why after each Letter is sent, all responses are published. Progress in Politics will also publish any comments or points of disagreement.

If our government is truly Of the People, By the People and For the People, we have the right to be heard and politicians have the obligation to listen—and to act.

the open letter process

Each open letter addresses current material weakness, inefficiencies and corruption in the Legislative and Executive Branch of Federal Government including the process by which public servants are elected and how they leave office.

Each Open letter has a specific topic with a draft letter describing the problem and its impact along with draft solution(s). A drafting blog accompanies each draft phase open letter for the public to offer solutions regarding that topic. If someone wishes to do some research prior to making a suggestion, each open letter format has source material research links as well as a general resource tab on the site.

After a designated period of time, each open letter will enter a completed letter signing phase voting period. If an American citizen wishes to endorse or agree with the finalized letter, then he or she can vote yes by “virtually signing” the letter through the signing blog accompanying the completed letter.

At the end of the designated voting period. The open letter will be time stamped and sent with a tally of the number of virtual signing endorsements to the designated elected official(s). Progress in Politics will track and post any responses from the recipients as well as actions taken (if any) by the recipients to implement the solutions.
