In the early years of our Constitutional Republic, the Founding Fathers wrote letters to colleagues, fully aware that these missives would be open to the general public and often published in newspapers. In the 21st Century, Americans need to be seen and heard more than ever.

• Empower you to speak and be heard through the Progress in Politics Open Letter process by giving you the tools you need to help craft informed policy solutions.

• Take back control of the government by focusing on facts, not rhetoric—solutions for America's pressing issues, not sound bites.

• Help get elected officials working together again by demonstrating that citizen voices can be more powerful than Super-PACS, special interest groups and lobbyists.

the open letter process

1. Draft

Each Open Letter has a specific topic describing a current problem in government. It will include some background information and offer specific solutions. During this period, participants can suggest solutions by writing them into the draft letter.

2. Sign

After a designated period of time, each Open Letter will enter a signing phase where American citizens can add their virtual signature to the letter, thereby agreeing to its content and message.

3. Send

The Open Letter will be time stamped and sent, along with a tally of the virtual signing endorsements, to designated elected officials.

4. Track

Progress in Politics then will track and post any responses from the recipients, as well as actions taken by them to implement solutions.
